Emma

Emma creates vivid, expressive compositions inspired by women’s stories, art history, and the textures of daily life. Drawing from the Artbox library and group outings, she reimagines familiar forms - figures, interiors, bouquets - into swirling seas of colour and line, using watercolour, pastel, and pen. Her visual language is unmistakably her own. Often, her subjects are women: confident, powerful, surrounded by pattern, and holding court in imagined worlds.
Emma takes joy in narrating her work, threading together historical references with personal flair. In the studio she sings, tells stories, supports others, and glows with pride in her process. Perhaps Emma sees herself reflected in the women she paints - they are strong, distinctive, and full of presence in their chosen spaces. So is she.
