Participating Artists
How can I join your workshops?
If you would like to become an artist at Artbox, please fill out an application form and email this over to sarah@artboxlondon.org who will review your application and get back in touch with you as soon as possible. If you are looking to volunteer at Artbox, please take a look at our volunteer page with all the opportunities we have available.
If you would prefer to speak to someone on the phone, please call our studio between 9.30-5.30pm Monday-Saturday or leave a voicemail with your name and address so that we can send you an application form.
Once we have received your application, we will work with you to arrange a taster session to meet the tutor and group.
Who can take part in Artbox London?
We work with learning disabled and/or autistic adults (18+). Often the people we work with have complex support needs and face barriers to full inclusion in society. If you're unsure whether someone is eligible, feel free to reach out and we’ll be happy to help.
Do I need to be an experienced artist to take part?
Not at all! Some of our artists have been creating for years, while others are completely new to art. Everyone is welcome.
What kind of support do you offer?
Our sessions are led by trained artists and support staff. We provide small group support and can provide 1:1 support, depending on each artist’s needs, and tailor activities to individual interests and goals.
Art and Exhibitions
Can I buy artwork made by Artbox London artists?
Yes! Original artworks, prints, and merchandise are available for purchase through our [Shop] or at exhibitions. 50% of sales go directly to the artist, with the rest supporting our programmes.
Do you host exhibitions?
We regularly exhibit work in galleries and public spaces across London and beyond. Details about current and upcoming exhibitions can be found on our [Events] or [Exhibitions] page.
Can I commission an artwork?
We’re always happy to discuss commissions. Contact us with your idea, and we’ll see how we can match you with one of our artists.
Where do profits from art sales go?
Any money from selling artworks will be used to further support Artbox and given back to the artists through new art materials as well as enabling exciting trips and gallery spaces to showcase work. The remaining amount goes directly to the artists.
