George

George is a passionate and expressive artist whose paintings, drawings, and clay works are full of life, colour, and feeling. He paints landscapes, still life, sunsets, beaches, and mountains - anything that brings him joy and helps him feel connected to the world. The natural beauty of places like Greece and Cyprus inspires him, especially the blue sea, colourful skies, and the warmth of a sunset. He works freely and quickly, favouring colours that bring brightness and joy - “Not black. Too dark - I like brighter things.” The linework that lays under his paintings and pastel works infuses his pieces with vibrating movement, and the colours he thickly layers on top always add more life to his work. 

Alongside his work at Artbox, George studies painting and poetry at City-Lit. In the studio, he often writes short, spontaneous poems, gifted as expressions of gratitude and friendship:
