Maleat
Maleat is primarily a painter who draws on inspiration from artists Pablo Picasso, Paul Klee and the Cubist movement. She creates striking artwork often referencing a piece of art and interpreting it in her own style. Recently, Maleat has started to explore her Eritrean heritage in her artwork as she is very proud of her culture.
Maleat said creating art and coming to the studio to work with volunteers makes her happy. She aspires to have her paintings on exhibition and become an Artbox Volunteer in the future.
Outside of Artbox, Maleat attends College and will be soon starting an internship. She hopes to find an internship related to her passion for cooking and baking. She says she gets joy out of creating for her family whether that is through cooking or art.
