Nicola

Nicola creates bold, intricate artworks using felt tips, filling her pages with bright, patterned detail. Often, a central subject - a tiger, flamingo, or sloth - might appear in the foreground, while the background is meticulously built from tiny, brightly coloured cubes or repeated motifs. This slow, deliberate process gives her work a rich, almost woven texture. She also enjoys drawing characters from films and popular culture, crafting lively mandalas, and has recently experimented with lino printing. Nicola’s playful energy shines through in her work, reflecting the joy she feels in the Artbox studio: “I didn’t think I was very good at art before coming here, but now I think I am.”
