Paul

Paul creates expressive, imaginative paintings that fuse personal longing with joyful colour and movement. His work often depicts blossoming trees, desert islands, or idealised landscapes - vivid, escapist scenes rendered in thick brushstrokes and radiant hues. Reminiscent of Van Gogh, Paul has developed a unique impressionistic style, combining emotional intensity with technical understanding of perspective, space, and rhythm. For Paul, painting is both therapeutic and liberating: it helps him regulate emotion, focus his mind, and travel - on canvas - to the magical places he dreams of visiting. Small symbolic details sometimes hint at private thoughts or beliefs, while the act of being seen and exhibiting is a powerful motivator. “I identify as an artist,” Paul says. “Painting takes me into a world of fantasy… I want to see islands, so I paint them.”
