Shine

Shine’s pictures are instantly recognisable for their vivid colour and hypnotic detail. Working in both abstract and figurative modes, he has developed a signature style built around circles, spots, and tiny hand-drawn dots - often created with Posca pens. These intricate patterns find their way into plants, portraits, and imagined landscapes, giving each piece a sense of pulsing rhythm and movement. Inspired in part by Yayoi Kusama, Shine uses repetition as both an artistic device and a meditative focus, building up his images with patience and precision. His time at Artbox has seen his confidence grow enormously; once a quiet presence, he now works alongside others and is a key member of the group, sharing encouragement and enthusiasm.
